Subjects Offered
From the building blocks of writing and reading comprehension to the finishing touches of final essays, students will be supported in all stages of their learning process. This includes grammar, syntax, thesis building, structuring for all manner of essays (historical, philosophical, research based, or any other modes of critical thinking). writing, editing, and re-writing.

I offer physics help for Mechanics and Kinematics; Electricity and Magnetism; and Waves, Optics, Fluids, and Thermodynamics. I can assist in both honors, non-honors, and AP physics for any and other courses listed above, including the SAT Physics subject test.

I help students to demystify the college essay experience, conversing and brainstorming with them in the initial phases to loosely and freely gather information and stories before focusing on an anecdote which would produce a strong essay. Throughout the process, a student and I will continually check in with the material to ensure it honestly and authentically resonates with them. Oftentimes, seemingly insignificant or “un-collegiate” experiences craft the most revealing and powerful personal statements, and are more relevant to personal truths than one would initially consider. When it comes to personal statements, it is my belief that the strongest answers lie within.
College Personal Statements
Instructor: Leo
I’m here to guide beginners and moderate level composers in the wonderful craft of music. I can familiarize you with the building blocks of the musical language and help you to understand music theory in order to inform an exploration into writing music. I cover topics such as counterpoint, orchestration, form, and style. I’m interested in what kind of music my students are drawn to and inspired by, whether that be film scores, classical symphonies, pop songs, jazz works, etc. and crafting a learning experience which is best tailored to that.
Music Composition

For Chemistry, I can provide assistance in non-honors, honors, and AP Chemistry; the SAT Chemistry subject test; General Chemistry; Organic Chemistry; Metabolic and Structural Biochemistry; and Biophysics of Macromolecules. Writing is a magical thing in the way words breathe life into our wildest fancies and imaginings, giving them form and substance, bringing them into the real world for all to experience. The greatest works of fiction, Don Quixote, Moby Dick, War and Peace, The Brothers Karamazov, and Great Expectations, to name a few, have the profound ability to transport readers into the rich worlds and dramas that unfold. I’d like to help students transcribe the wonderful treasures of their imagination onto the page in a compelling and effective manner, using a literary voice that’s their own. I can guide students in all phases of the creative writing process, from the initial conception of an idea to the final edits and polishing of a complete story. I welcome all levels and ages of authors.
Creative Writing Lessons

From basic piano instruction, learning the fundamental skills and knowledge in reading music, music theory, proper technique to moderate and advanced level skills involving expression, theoretical analysis, and advanced playing techniques. I’m also well versed in a variety of pop and rock piano music from Elton John to Billy Joel for people who would like to learn how to play from these genres. Ultimately, I want to work with students to best help them achieve their unique musical desires and goals on the piano.
Piano Lessons

Instruction in close-reading and literary analysis, recognizing, understanding, and employing poetic and literary devices, foundations of rhetoric, and organizing evidence to support a literary thesis argument. Wherever a student is at in their reading and writing process, their learning needs will be met in a way that is specific and considered for them.

I offer tutoring services in a wide array of mathematics: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB & BC, SAT subject tests, and SAT and ACT Math. Feel free to inquire about other math courses not listed here.
Math
Instructor: Eli
Students of all ages and levels can receive instruction in oil painting and acrylic, watercolor, color theory, introductory and advanced drawing, sculpture, collage and most other mediums of art-making. I have extensive experience working with a variety of art materials, and am classically trained not just in painting and figure drawing, but also more experimental techniques. I am equipped to guide and support artists of all ages no matter what their ideas or artistic needs are – whether they be sewing, building with wire and paper mache, or painting still lives with glitter glue. Classes I’ve taught have included “Experimental Drawing,” “Sci-fi & Fantasy Sculpture,” “Painting Fundamentals,” and more. I am also experienced in more formal art criticism and theory, and have experience writing and helping others write about art, including artist statements and visual analysis. I love making art, talking about art, teaching art, and would love to facilitate your artistic process in any way I can.
